SAND CASTING I

Sand
Pie plate
Rag
Plaster
Shapes
Paint and paintbrushes

Fill pie plate 1/2 way with sand. Imbed shapes, make holes, etc.

Fill the other 1/2 of pan with plaster. Let dry. Wipe off loose sand after removing the mold from pan. Paint the mold.

SAND CASTING II

Pour damp sand into a disposable pie plate. Press or draw a design with your fingers. Add beads or marbles, as desired. Spoon plaster of Paris into the depressions, then gently pour a layer about 1/2 inch thick. Let it dry completely. Turn plate over to remove the casting.
