ACTIVE VOLCANO

1 teaspoon baking soda
Red food coloring
1/2 cup vinegar

Place baking soda inside a cup & place it on a plate.

Put 4 to 6 drops offood coloring on top of the baking soda.

Poke a hole, about the size of a dime, in the bottom of another paper cup.

Place the second paper cup upside down over the cup filled with the baking soda.

When you want your volcano to erupt, pour the vinegar into the cup and stand back! The more vinegar you pour into the hole, the more foam the volcano will erupt.

Ideas:

***Use markers, paints, etc. to decorate the cups to look like a real volcano.

***For a fantasy effect, add 4 to 6 drops of blue or green food coloring and 1 tsp. of fine glitter to the baking soda.
